About Aberconwy House
This is the only medieval merchant's house in Conwy to have survived the turbulent history of the walled town over nearly six centuries.
As a result of the pandemic, we’ve had to review our operating model at Aberconwy House. Following discussions with local businesses, partners and stakeholders, we are pleased that Aberconwy House will reopen on October 21 as a second-hand bookshop. The building has had many uses over the years including being a hotel, museum and antique shop. We look forward to this new chapter and to welcome people back to this historical building in the heart of Conwy once more.
We are also committed to providing a space where the local community can benefit. Community discussions are ongoing and we look forward to sharing the next steps shortly.
It’s a privilege to care for Aberconwy House and we remain committed to ensuring it’s protected for generations to come.
Find out how we’re reinterpreting the last surviving merchant house to share the stories of this special place and the people who lived and worked here.
