It is our intention to foster freedom of expression and provide a right of access to minority and marginalized groups. It is also our intention to provide programming which is not available elsewhere locally. The content of which will be progressive and challenging.
We will in no way be dependent on the government, religious or commercial institutions. We are established as a not-for-profit community radio station and aim to be financed from a variety of sources and fundraising activities to ensure we remain independent.
Our watch-words will be ‘Nearness’, ‘Openness’ and ‘Interaction’. With our service being distinctly local in it’s character. The fact that we will broadcast from within the heart of our community will ensure our roots stay true’
We want to encourage the will, the want and the desire to achieve, attain and aspire, regardless of the walls and doors that have been thrust in front of people in the past. We want to help people break down barriers and overcome prejudices and go on to greater things, using our community radio facilities to give them the confidence and the will to get to where they want to go.
We all have the ability to achieve; unfortunately not everyone gets the opportunity. Therefore our aim with our training and education programs is to maximise potential and create opportunity for all.
