Cambrian Rally

North Wales is the setting for this incredible heart pumping rally, with locations such as Clocarnog and Alwen Forest in Denbighshire and Penmancho just outside Betws y Coed. Both of these locations were used a lot during the Lombard RAC Rally back in the 80s.

The Welsh seaside resort town of Llandudno serves as the headquarters for the Cambrian Rally, a thriving holiday and shopping centre which has a number of famous attractions, including a pier, Victorian promenade, the Great Orme providing a spectacular vista from its summit along with its gardens, ski-slope, scenic Marine Drive and the oldest copper mines in Europe. Llandudno has a range of accommodation to suit any needs, from luxury 5-star boutique hotels to 4 star 70 bedroom hotels.

North Wales provides a staggering selection of terrain, from the isle of anglesey, the Llyn peninsula and the mountain range of snowdonia national park. There’s also interesting sights such as the Rivers of Conwy, Clwyd and Dee along with Dyfi.

The North Wales Car Club (NWCC) was formed in 1955, and the Cambrian Rally was formed shortly after , growing every year and becoming more recognised, in 1986 the event became the final round of the BTRDA Gold Star Championship, which it still is to this day.

This event is a tradition which goes back many years and so has a strong and loyal following to this day. The Cambrian Rally is a momentous event that any rally or motoring fan just can’t afford to miss!
